Indigenous Education
St Joseph's developed its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2015. This RAP is reviewed annually and the most up to date version is now available for download below.
Vision
Reconciliation is in action at St Joseph's Catholic School, Mount Isa. Our vision is to enliven a whole school change — in the classroom, around the school and in the community and to promote reconciliation as a united group. At St Joseph's Primary School we see reconciliation as treating and being treated as equals, regardless of background and upbringing. Australia is a multicultural society and we aim to embrace and treasure what each individual brings to our school.
A reconciled Australia is what we see now in many instances — acceptance and respect. We see and encourage this in our school and community everyday. Our aim is to acknowledge and celebrate the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage of Australia through sharing and experiencing activities and events within our school and Mount Isa community.
